The EPHS boys indoor track and field team remain undefeated and in first place by defeating Pilgrim, Tolman, Shea, and Cranston East on Saturday, January 4th. Individual winners for the Townies were: the 4x400 relay consisting of Zack Moreira, Will Massey, Julius Cortes, and Justin Jardine, Jack Pawlik in the 55 meter, Nolan Travassos in the 55 meter high hurdles & the high jump, Will Anthony in the 3000 meter, and the 4x200 meter relay team consisting of Jietan Ruiz, Julius Cortes, Jack Pawlik, and Justin Jardine.
"Although I knew we had a good team, it has been pleasantly surprising that we remain undefeated and in first place," said Head Coach Bob Lyons. "The goals for the team this year are to have a winning record during the dual meet portion of the season, finish top three in the division championship meet, and score in double digits at both the Class A and RI State Championship meets," added Lyons. So far the Townies are looking very good. Previously, EP defeated Chariho 62-46, Smithfield 55-50, Narragansett 79-26, and Mt. Hope 69-39.
