Edwin R. Smith, Jr.

Edwin R. Smith, Jr., 57, formerly of Rehoboth and currently of Johnston, RI, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 14, 2021. Born in Attleboro, Edwin (Bobby) was the beloved son of the late Edwin R. Smith, Sr. and his former wife, the late Sheila I. (Handy) Smith. Edwin also leaves behind his beloved step-mother, Betty Smith of E. Providence, RI. Besides his step-mother, Bob leaves behind his two daughters, Hannah and Ryleigh Smith of Seekonk; a sister, Lynn A. Gagne of Seekonk and her late husband Ronald R. Gagne, Sr.; two brothers, James Smith of Seekonk and Timothy Smith and his wife Michelle of Warren, RI; and his late sister Lori Boudreau and his late brother Steven T. Smith. Bob also leaves behind his niece Nicole Praisner and her husband Martin; a nephew R.J. Gagne and his fiancé Kasey Boegler; nieces Amanda Boudreau, Melania and Audriana Smith, and great-nephews Martin and Mylo Praisner.

Edwin was a graduate of Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School, Class of 1982. He worked as a tractor-trailer driver for Patriot Hauling for over 28 years before his retirement in 2020. Bob loved driving trucks and was an avid motorcyclist for many years. He also enjoyed the New England Patriots and the Boston Bruins.

He especially loved spending time with his two daughters and his beloved family and friends. Above all, Bob was a man with a good heart and the most important thing to him was being with family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Monday, November 22, 2021 from 4-6 PM at Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 6 PM. Burial will be private.
