East Providence, RI – The City of East Providence has rolled out a new workforce development program targeted at East Providence youth and young adults ages 16-24.

“East Providence’s youth are our future,” Mayor Bob DaSilva said. “We want to give our East Providence youth the opportunity to build on their workforce development skills through interviews and resume-building while also giving our city’s young adults exposure to the many different functions of city government including parks, recreation, engineering, library, public safety, clerks, and more.”

The Mayor’s Youth Workforce Program, paid through American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds, will support the hiring of 50 East Providence youth for the months of May through August (depending on availability) at an hourly rate of $13.50 to $15 per hour. Rate is commensurate with experience.

The application period opens TODAY and runs through April 25, 2022 (but it may be extended depending upon position availability).
