DR Boys Varsity Tennis

While we finished our regular season at 6-6, we have an entire team of young beginners who just started playing the sport and are committed to practicing and competing year-round to improve the team and program. We qualified for the MA state tournament and lost 2-3 to Amherst. Aidan Marquis is our only graduating senior this year. He provided some key wins at various positions in the lineup this year. Logan Silva, Trevor Jefferson, Abe Bonin, Drew Dagnese, Luke Moitoso all worked hard this year and provided key wins in various positions in the lineup as well. Newcomer, Lincoln Levisee, just picked up a racket for the first time ever this year and worked his way up the lineup to a singles position and provided some very key wins this year. Our program’s first 8th grader, Mitch Ramos, played both singles and doubles this year providing key wins in multiple spots in the lineup and was a big key to the team's success. Junior captain, Ty Perry, and #1 singles player completed a perfect season of 12-0 (13-0) including our first-round playoff loss. He didn't give up a single set all season with most sets ending in 6-0. He was unanimously named the conference's MVP. He established himself as the premier player in Mass D3. He competed at the individual state championships held by USTA at Babson College where the top 64 players in the state from all divisions go to compete. He won the round of 64 but fell to the 5 seed in the round of 32. The 5 seed went on to make the finals losing to the 1 seed. We look forward to next season.
