Dolores T. Bliss, 78, of East Providence, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Rhode Island Hospital.
Born in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Anne (Wiggins) Frye. Dolores worked in the East Providence School Department as a teacher's assistant until she retired. Dolores found it her mission for helping everyone that needed her help. She ran marathons for Saint Jude’s in New Orleans,Ireland and Alaska. Dolores enjoyed being on a beach, and spending time at her "timeshare" in Aruba. She was a Big Sports fan and loved her Yankees as well as basketball, and football.
She leaves four sons, Barry Frye and his wife Deborah of Wyndmoor, PA, George A. Frye, and his fiancée Delores DaGraca of West Palm Beach, FL, Kevin Bliss, and his wife Stacy of Rumford, and Kenneth Bliss and his partner Schae Lewis of Pawtucket, stepson Michael RedHawk Bliss, and Antwyon Carter who she loved like a son. Nine grandchildren, Tiffany Metts, Marques Frye, Tyler Frye, Jazmyn Bliss, Tanner Frye, Ayden Bliss, Sean Bliss, Landon Bliss, and LeBron Bliss, eight great-grandchildren, Tikira Ogilvy, Alana Ogilvy, Braxton Frye, Kai Frye. one brother, Walter Morgan of East Providence.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, 10 a.m. in St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 114 George St, Providence, RI 02906. Burial will be private.
