Brian Kreizinger

Posted

Brian Kreizinger passed away on April 17, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Providence, RI, and grew up in Rehoboth, MA. He graduated from Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School in 2002. Brian prided himself as a forever student. He earned his BA in Fine Art from BSU, MA in Education from Emmanuel College, and EdS in Educational Leadership from BSU. Brian was still enrolled in courses all the way up until his passing.

Brian was a beloved art teacher at Taunton High School, and prior to that, Weymouth Middle School. He strived to get the most from his students and always pushed them to surpass their own expectations. Brian loved Rehoboth and returned to raise his family in his “dream house.”

An avid reader, Brian could be found turning pages by the bay windows that look over the Palmer River. To his own surprise, this view also caused him to become an amateur bird watcher. He was a Celtics (basketball in general) fanatic and was still playing pick-up ball with his friends well beyond their prime. He loved driving around town in his ‘79 Ramcharger with the top off and country music playing on the radio; maybe headed fishing, where he considered himself mediocre at best. He also thought of himself as a candle enthusiast, neat freak, cat lover, and a weightlifter. Above all else, Brian preferred to spend time with his family, hunkering down for a movie night, taking the kids on “adventures” and reading with them every night.

Brian will be remembered as a dedicated teacher and a thoughtful friend, but most importantly a loyal son and brother, and a devoted father and husband. He leaves behind his whole world, his children, Audrey and Oliver, and his loving wife, Kate (Thurston) Kreizinger; his parents Brian and Lorraine (Horton) Kreizinger; his brother Adam Kreizinger; his sister Kelly (Kreizinger) Steele and her husband Raymond; his sisters-in-law, Christine Thurston and Emily (Thurston) Ruehrwein and her husband Michael; his niece Alice; his nephew Westley. Brian also leaves behind several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Predeceased by his grandparents Frank and Evelyn (Taylor) Horton and Leo and Beatrice (Raposa) Kreizinger.

Visiting Hours were held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, from 3:00 - 8:00pm at 350 Somerset Ave., Taunton. A Celebration of Life followed on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at the Berkley Beer Company from 12:00 - 3:00pm at 10 Ingell St, Taunton, MA 02780.
