Audrey J. (Fuller) Deavellar

Audrey J. (Fuller) Deavellar, 66, of Seekonk, MA, was called home to the house of the Lord on Thursday, April 29, 2021. She passed away at home with her family by her side following a long illness.

Mrs. Deavellar was in born in Brockton, MA, the eldest daughter of the late Richard C. Fuller Sr. and Priscilla (Scruton) Fuller. She was the beloved wife of Russell Deavellar for forty five years and a dedicated mother to her only daughter, Amanda Deavellar.

She was raised in Attleboro and was a 1972 graduate of Attleboro High School. During her high school years she was an active participate and staunch supporter of Junior Achievement, where she won many awards and attended several regional and national conferences. She worked part-time at London's Department Store during and after high school. After high school, she attended Bryant University working towards her Associates Degree in Legal Secretarial Science. She received her degree in 1974. After graduating, she worked in the Latin American Division of The Foxboro Company for several years. After a lengthy illness, which left her a paraplegic, Mrs. Deavellar returned to Bryant University part-time to obtain her Bachelor of Science Degree in Office Administration which she received in 1985.

After the birth of her daughter, she became a full-time mother and wife. When her daughter started school, she became involved in the Seekonk School system in many capacities. She started as a classroom volunteer. She was co-president in the Parent-Teacher Organizations at the elementary, middle and high school levels. She also supervised the ""Great Books"" program at North School for 10 years. She served as a School Council member for twelve years at North School and three years at Seekonk High School. In 2000, she was hired by the Town of Seekonk where she did substitute teaching. Due to her love of education and children, she returned to Bristol Community College where she received her degree in Elementary Education and her Thanatology certificate for grief counseling. In addition to her love for education, she enjoyed cross-stitch, knitting and had a love for books. She was a member of the Second Congregational Church in Attleboro, MA, where she also taught several years of Sunday School.

In addition to her mother, husband and daughter she is survived by a sister: Diane Gustafson and her husband Herman of Pocasset; sister-in-law: Patricia Machado and her husband Steven of Attleboro; a niece: Amy Chartier and her husband David of North Attleboro; one nephew: Neil Chartier of Washington State; among several cousins, their spouses, and their children.

Calling Hours for Audrey will be held on Monday, May 3, 2021 from 4-7pm with a Funeral Service following on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at 11am in the Foley-Cook-Hathaway Funeral Home, 126 South Main Street, Attleboro. Burial to follow in North Purchase Cemetery, Attleboro. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. (Facial coverings and social distancing are required at the funeral home and cemetery at all times). All arrangements are entrusted to Foley-Cook-Hathaway Funeral Home, 126 South Main Street , Attleboro, MA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Deavellar' s name may be made to Second Congregational Church in Attleboro, MA or the charity of your choice.
