Alan “Chubby” Adams, 68, of Riverside, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Miriam Hospital. Born September 4, 1952, in Providence, he was a son of the late Alan and Anna Mae (Sullivan) Adams.

He leaves his daughters, Tracy (David) Capobianco and Robin (the late Kevin) Robinson, and their mother, Lu Ann Furtado; and the greatest treasures of his life, his 5 grandchildren, Constantino and Christina-Marie Capobianco, and Shaye, Kevin Jr. and Riley Robinson. He also leaves 6 siblings, Alana “Sissy” Simmons, William “Billy” Adams, Donna Estrella, Diane Alden, Ann “Pinky” Parton Balletto and Caroline Green. “Uncle Chubby” also leaves countless nieces and nephews, whether blood related or not, and he was loved by all for his funny and giving nature. He would give you the shirt off his back. He also leaves tons of great friends including his former wife, Colleen.

“Chubby” was a self-employed contractor for many years and formerly worked in Public Works for the City of East Providence. His favorite pastimes were spending time with his family and driving to Galilee to watch the boats or going to Lake Winnipesaukee, where he and his family vacationed all their life. You could also find hear him yelling and complaining at the pit boss at the high roller blackjack table at any casino. But his favorite thing was talking about his each of his grandchildren and their achievements: investing, academics, gymnastics, BMX bike riding and his youngest…the comedian.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Friday, Sept. 18, at 11am in St. Martha's Church, 2595 Pawtucket Ave., East Providence. (please meet directly at church Friday morning). Cremation will follow. Calling hours will be Thursday, Sept. 17, from 5pm until 8pm in the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence.

Following COVID-19 guidelines of the RIDOH, the wearing of face masks and social distancing will be observed.
