A Couple Save the Dates

Posted

Saturday May 16th we will be placing flags on the graves of our fallen. You can choose either Littleneck Cemetery or Gates of Heaven to volunteer to help place flags. Both locations start at 8:00am rain or shine. We are about 500 flags short from our allotment so will seek donations for our shortage. I’ll make an Amazon Gift List and post it below, so we are consistent. Please share this far and wide. More hands make light work.

Monday, May 25th is our annual Legion Riverside Memorial Day Parade. It goes off rain or shine.

We start staging at 9:00am at the old Oldham School on Bullocks Point Ave. and we step off at 10:00am making our way to The Legion where the kids will get the traditional snacks…Hot dogs, chips, hug jugs, water and hoodsies. We have donors for the hugs, water and hoodsies so far so if you want to sponsor dogs, buns, napkins, condiments, tablecloth roll or chips just let me know and I’ll remove the items as they are claimed.

If you will be participating in the parade, please let me know. I have to separate bands and music so it’s super helpful to know ahead of time!!

Just a reminder, there is no passing out political or commercial swag or flyers allowed. This is strictly enforced and you will be banned from ever participating again. This is a time-honored tradition, and the purpose is to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Please don’t cheapen the sentiment. Candy throwing is encouraged though.

For more information, reach out to Chrissy Rossi at (401) 481-1721 and share all over the place!! It’s our Nations 250th birthday this year!! Let’s make it awesome
