On Tuesday, November 3, 2026, Question 10, Page 3, of the Election Ballot, is to approve the much needed, New South Fire Station, paid for by a proposition 2.5 debt exclusion; a two-step process. This question requires a majority YES vote to move this project forward:
“Shall the Town of Seekonk be allowed to exempt from the provisions of proposition two and one half, so-called, the amounts required to pay for the bond issued in order to fund the design, engineering, site preparation, construction, and initial furnishing and equipping of a proposed South End Fire Station to be located at 69 School Street, Seekonk, MA, including all costs incidental or related thereto?”
Yes _____ No ____
The second funding step requires a two-thirds supermajority YES vote to approve Warrant Article 14 at the November 9, 2026, Town Meeting, authorizing $9,750,000. Funding for the New South Fire Station will be an additional expense on your tax bill, for 20 years. To determine your individual cost, each $100,000 in assessed valuation of your home will add $17.00 annually. As an example, if your home has an assessed value of $500,000, your tax bill will increase by $85.00 per year; which equals $21.25 quarterly, or $7.08 monthly. Your support is requested to move this project forward. Please vote YES! Additional information will be provided soon. Thank you.
