Seekonk First Responders Play for a Cause

Members of the Seekonk Fire and Police departments took to the basketball court at Seekonk High School Saturday to raise money to fight blood cancer.

The proceeds from the first “Battle of the Badges” will be donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

The players from the Fire Department included Chief Shaun Whalen, Deputy Chief Adam Dalessio, Captain Joseph Gibbons, Lieutenant Timothy Goodwin, Lieutenant Edward Maher, Lieutenant Matthew Bradford, Lieutenant Jonathan Martel, Firefighter/EMT Brandon Botelho, Firefighter/EMT Justin Silva, Firefighter/Paramedic Michael Puhacz, Firefighter/Paramedic Alex Bak, Firefighter/EMT-B Brandon Ferreri, Firefighter/Paramedic Joshua King, and Firefighter/EMT-B Michael Cronin.

Representing the Police Department were: Lieutenant Sean Dowd, Sergeant Adam Laprade, Sergeant Keith Perry, Sergeant Steven Fundakowski, Patrolman Kevin Nagle, Patrolman Mitchell Dudley, Patrolman Ian Boisvert, Patrolman Christian Ortiz, Patrolman Emil Abotsi, Patrolman Nicholas Viveiros, and Special Police Officer Eric Dallaire.

The game went into an overtime period when the score was tied 25-25. The final score was Police – 34 points and Fire – 32 points.
