Seekonk Troop 1 and Troop 9 Scouts worked on swimming and water rescue skills at the Boys and Girls Club in East Providence, Rhode Island. Several scouts earned their swimming merit badge by demonstrating the ability to tread water, float, and swim multiple laps without rest. Scouts also took their annual swim test in preparation for their summer trip to Camp Yawgoog.

Seekonk Scouts recently completed a six-mile hike at Diamond Hill in Cumberland, Rhode Island. Scouts enjoyed warm weather while also learning plant identification and signs of animal life.

Seekonk Scouts continue to work on rank requirements such as physical fitness. Scouts are planning this year’s summer adventures such as mountain biking trips in the local area, their annual trip to Camp Yawgoog, and their trip to Seabase High Adventure in Islamorada, Florida for April 2027.

Two Troop 1 Scouts were recognized for their hardworking earning their Eagle rank. Approximately, four percent of scouts reach the rank of Eagle.
