OPEN HOUSES

Visit us July 12th & 26th to explore our “3 R’s: Road to Revolution in Rehoboth.” Our displays highlight local connections to key Revolutionary War figures, Colonial Currency, and a pictorial alphabet of Colonial America. Try signing our Declaration of Independence with a feather pen, enjoy scavenger hunts for young visitors, and play our classic Old‑Fashioned Yard Games. The museum is open from 2–4 PM on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of June, July, August, and September.

FLAG DAY

Did you know that President Lyndon and Lady Bird Johnson honored the Hornbine School by presenting us with a U.S. flag that flew over the Capital in 1968? On June 14th, Flag Day, local historian Dave Downs shared the story of our flag and spoke about early education in Rehoboth and the rich history of the Hornbine School.

CLASSROOM VISITS

Several 3rd grade classes spent a full day at the Hornbine School this spring, taking part in old‑fashioned lessons from a century ago and enjoying a lively day of teaching with Richard Wheeler. We are now scheduling class visits for the upcoming season. Questions – email Dawn at HORNBINESCHOOL@GMAIL.COM
