Deborah A. Almeida, 70, of Rehoboth, MA, died peacefully on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at St. Anne’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Alfred F. Almeida, Sr. & Dorothea (Rapozo) Almeida. She was the loving wife of Alan J. Viveiros.
Deborah was a graduate of Northeastern University, Salve Regina University, and Lynn University School of Mortuary Science.
Deborah co-owned and operated the family business, A.F. Almeida & Son Funeral Home of Fall River and Pocasset Memorial Funeral Home of Tiverton for many years. She was a Licensed Funeral Director & Registered Embalmer in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Deborah will be remembered for her kindness and compassion to the many families she was honored to serve throughout her career.
A Registered Pharmacist, Deborah was employed as Assistant Director of Pharmacy at St. Anne’s Hospital and Pharmacist at Standard Pharmacy in Fall River.
Active in civic affairs, Deborah was Past President of the Fall River Funeral Directors Association, member of Altrusa International, Fall River Rotary Club, Portuguese Business Association, and served on the Board of Directors for the Good Samaritans. She was a Communicant of Good Shepherd Church and a longtime member of the Liberal Club.
In addition to her husband, she leaves her brother, Alfred F. Almeida, Jr. & his wife Kathleen of Tiverton, and sister-in-law Janice Costa of Fall River. She was the stepmother of Tonya Vitorino & her husband Dan of Westport, grandmother of Kellee Weeks, Devyn Vitorino, Dominic Vitorino, & great-grandmother of Isla Weeks. Cherished aunt of Aaron D. Almeida & his wife Jody, Andrew J. Almeida & his wife Caitlyn, Joel Costa, Kerrie Brum & her husband Joshua, and grandaunt of Emily Grace, Madelyn Joy, Sophia Elizabeth, Henry David, Caleb Joseph, Zachary John, and Lylah Hope Almeida.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at 10:30 AM in Good Shepherd Church, 1598 South Main Street, Fall River. Entombment in Notre Dame Cemetery will be private.
The Almeida Family will receive relatives & friends on Tuesday from 3:00 to 6:00 PM in the A.F. ALMEIDA & SON FUNERAL HOME, 1309 Globe Street, Fall River, MA.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105 will be appreciated.
