Covid Rates Hold Steady in Seekonk, Rehoboth

Covid rates in Seekonk and Rehoboth have not seen a significant spike based on the 14 day testing period which concluded on September 18. Rehoboth reported an average daily incidence rate of 19.7 per 100,000 residents. The daily positivity rate was 4.22 percent. 900 tests were conducted over two weeks. Seekonk reported an average daily incidence rate of 28.5 per 100,000 residents. The daily positivity rate was 5.45 percent. 1,119 tests were conducted.

Nearby communities reported similar numbers. Dighton reported a daily positivity rate of 5.73 percent. Fall River had a rate of 5.15 percent and New Bedford had a rate of 5.91 percent. Bristol County’s average daily incidence rate was 30.9 per 100,000 residents – the third highest in Massachusetts. Only Hampshire and Hamden counties had more reported cases.

There are 617 patients hospitalized for Covid-19 statewide. There have been 18,154 confirmed deaths in Massachusetts since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.
