Bilingual Trail Signs Installed on Audubon Wildlife Refuges

Audubon Society of Rhode Island prioritizes offering safe, inclusive, and welcoming nature centers and properties to all Rhode Islanders. Bilingual trails signs are one way that Audubon is working to make visitors feel more comfortable on the trails and making nature more accessible to all.

Just in time for Earth Day, Audubon has installed new bilingual trails signs at all public wildlife refuges that have longer trail systems. Not only do they provide a map with a ‘You are Here’ mark at specific locations to guide hikers and families, but trail names and significant natural habitats will also be offered in English and Spanish.

Audubon maintains 9,800 acres of natural habitat across Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts. Many of our beautiful wildlife refuges are open and free to the public and have groomed trails for hiking, and nature study. All communities are encouraged to get outside, experience the health benefits found in nature, and discover the signs of spring emerging on the wildlife refuges.
