Thelma Turoff

Thelma Turoff, 95, of Seekonk, MA passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 13, 1926 in Boston, MA to the late Morris & Frances (Finard) Ruderman. She is survived by her partner Lloyd Turoff of Seekonk, her sister Sara Shapiro of Morristown, N.J., her beloved children; Neal Turoff of St. Petersburg, FL, John Turoff, Karen (Christopher) Knowles of Hampstead, N.C. and Lynn (Thomas) Clifford of Rehoboth, MA, along with her seven grandchildren; Jason Turoff, Brie Mueller, Rusty Knowles, Read Knowles, Brooke Clifford, Rebecca Clifford and Matthew Clifford, her 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Thelma graduated from Malden High School, class of 1944 and shortly after began working as a secretary for the Army in Boston during WWII.

She was a long-time resident of Seekonk, MA where she lived with her partner Lloyd for the last 52 years. Prior to moving to Seekonk, she was a resident of Barrington, RI where she was an active member of the Barrington Players Theatre Company performing in countless plays and spent time teaching and partaking in ballet lessons, a great passion and love of hers as well. Thelma was president of the Barrington PTA and an active leader with the boys & girls scouts. After moving from Barrington she continued to visit the quaint bayside community with Lloyd, her children, and grandchildren throughout the years.

She was a devoted and loving mother and nana and will be remembered for her beauty, grace, & love for her family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to Alzheimer's research. Services will be private. Arrangements are under the care of the O'Keefe-Wade Funeral Home in Taunton, MA.
