Seekonk Superintendent Finalists Named

The finalists for the Seekonk School Superintendent position being vacated by Rich Drolet were announced at Monday’s school committee meeting.

They include:

  • Marlene Dileo, the Superintendent of Ware Public Schools. Dileo previously worked for Holyoke Public Schools as an elementary school principal.
  • Rebecca Kidwell, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction, Assessment & Professional Development of Rockland Public Schools. Kidwell previously served as Director of Technology and Accountability, K – 12, Braintree Public Schools.
  • Andrea Schwamb, currently the Assistant Superintendent for the Wareham Public Schools in Wareham, Massachusetts. Schwamb is also an adjunct professor at Bridgewater State University. According to her bio, Schwamb has been in the field of education for twenty years and has had the opportunity to teach in a number of institutions serving diverse populations.

Assistant Superintendent Zachary Waddicor said there were 18 applicants for the position. The Superintendent’s search committee called eight back and met with seven of the candidates. 

The school committee plans to interview Dileo, Kidwell, and Schwamb next week. A final selection will be announced at the committee’s May 22 meeting.

Drolet is leaving at the end of June to take over the King Philip Regional School District.

Drolet has been serving as Superintendent since 2018. Before coming to Seekonk, Drolet served as the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, Assessment and Accountability for the Uxbridge Public Schools.
