Mary E. Oliver

Mary E. Oliver, of Seekonk, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Hope Hospice and Palliative care. She was the wife of the late Joseph Oliver.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Francis and Elizabeth (Garvey) Hughes.

Mrs. Oliver was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. She was an active member of the parish, serving as lector and Eucharistic Minister, bringing communion to the sick and homebound, and participating in the RCIA program. She was a devoted adorer at St. Joseph's Chapel. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed.

She leaves two sons, Stephen Oliver and his wife Madeline of Seekonk, Todd Oliver, of Rumford, two grandchildren, Gabrielle Oliver, John Oliver, and one brother, Francis T. Hughes of Rumford. She was the sister of the late Thomas Kevin Hughes.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 11:00 AM from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Taunton Avenue, Seekonk. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to, Our Lady of Mt.
