Norman also worked for the Seekonk Police Department and the Bristol County Sheriff's Office for several years. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking. Joan enjoyed caring for her family and gardening.

Norman and Joan are survived by their three children, Paul Champigny and his wife, Karen, of Warwick, Lisa Trahan and her fiancé, Michael Menissian, of Chepachet, and Lori Bassett and her husband, Arthur, of North Smithfield; six grandchildren, Michelle, Brian, Carina, Kayleigh, Daniel and Leanne; a step-grandson, Connor and four great-grandchildren, Evie, Mae, Margot, and Celia. They were the parents of the late Debra Ann Champigny. Norman was the brother of the late Rev. Roger Champigny (Diocese of Providence) and Sr. Paul Rita (Genevieve Champigny), S.U.S.C and Joan was the sister of Claire Bradley of Dover, DE and Karen Broadbent of Attleboro.

Services for Mr. & Mrs. Champigny followed by interment at Seekonk Cemetery will be private. Flowers are respectfully omitted.
