Edward N. Malloy, Sr.

Sadly we announce the passing of Edward N. Malloy, Sr., of Seekonk, 89, on Friday, June 16, 2023 at home. He was the beloved husband of 64 years of Barbara A. (McCann) Malloy and dad of Edward N. Malloy, Jr. and his wife, Megan, of Spokane, WA, James M. Malloy and his wife, Dory-Lynn, of North Scituate, RI, Robert A. Malloy and his wife, Michele, of Leesburg, VA and Thomas S. Malloy and his fiancée, Rebecca, of Seekonk, MA. Edward also leaves five grandchildren, Mackenzie, Bailey, Brett, Daniel, and Jamie. He was the brother of the late John and Beatrice Malloy.

Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late John E. and M. Blanche (Plante) Malloy. Edward was a graduate of Pawtucket Vocational High School and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Johnson & Wales College, Providence, RI.

A Korean War Army veteran, he was stationed in Germany. For thirty-one years Ed was an assistant grocery manager at First National Stores, followed by fourteen years as a supervisor at Rhode Island Hospital.

Ed enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, family events, traveling with his best friend, wife Barbara, throughout the United States and abroad, each trip was an adventure. High on his happy list was playing golf, he proudly attained a hole-in-one on May 30, 2018. Also high on his happy list was digging for clams, gardening, tending to his feathered friends, summer concerts and local plays.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, June 23, 2023 at 10 a.m. in St. Raymond’s Church, 1240 North Main St., Providence. Military Honors will follow. Committal Services will be held at a later date at Swan Point Cemetery.

Visitation and flowers are respectfully omitted.
