Edith M. (Heyssler) Krekorian

Edith M. (Heyssler) Krekorian, 91, passed away on Monday, August 9, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late Ruben E. Krekorian. Born and raised in Germany, she a daughter of the late Maximillen and Margarete (Kunze) Heyssler.

In 1952, she moved from Germany to Montreal, where she spent some of the next two years working as a nanny and a fashion model. In Montreal, she also met her husband, Ruben. In 1960, the couple moved into their new home in Seekonk where they resided for many happy years.

She was the Director of Purchasing at the American Mathematical Society, Providence, for twenty-eight years before retiring in 1989. In 1993 she became the Producer and Director of "Change of Pace with Edie" which was broadcast on cable channel 9.

She was actively involved in Seekonk's civic life. She was a former President of the Kiwanis Club and coordinator of its annual fundraiser, Taste of the Towns. She was the founder of Friends of Friends, and was a former member of the town finance committee. Edie had also served as a member of the board of the Boys and Girls Club of Pawtucket and also at the Blackstone Valley ARC. She enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Pawtucket Country Club. Edie also enjoyed walking and was an avid reader.

She leaves a sister, Sonja Saint-Denis of Germany; three nephews, Robert Krikorian and wife, Marcy Shidler, (David & Ellen Krikorian), of Ohio, Thomas Krikorian of California, Roland Barth and wife, Saysay, (Vanessa, Miriam and Olivia), of Germany; three nieces, Sharon Krikorian and husband, John Debes, of New York, Nancy Krekorian Thurber and husband, Daniel L., of Maine and Pamela Krekorian Burnell and husband, Daniel E., of Maine; a great-niece, Jennifer Thurber Kohl and husband, Timothy Kohl (Sarah and Edward Kohl), of Massachusetts and three great-nephews, Daniel K. Thurber, (Thomas K. Thurber), of Maine, Jason D. Burnell and wife, Emily Burnell, (Carson Burnell), of Colorado and Joshua R. Burnell, of Maine; dear friends, Karen A. Perkins of Seekonk, Mara Gibson and husband, Bud Gibson, (Aram and Levon), of Michigan and Lori Chobanian and husband, Ed Harlan, (Paul and Ani Harlan), of Massachusetts, and many friends in Seekonk and Portland, Maine.

She was the sister of the late Hans Heyssler and wife, Hildegard; sister-in-law of the late Kaurken "Thomas" Krikorian, Azadoohi "Rose" Ayrassian Krikorian, Popkin "Robert" Krekorian, Pauline Goulasarian Krekorian, and aunt of the late Gary P. Krekorian. Edie was also predeceased by loving friends Mary Kazarian and Dorothy "Dot" Newman.

Visitation will begin on Friday, August 20, 2021 at 11 a.m. followed by Services at 12 p.m. in WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Interment will follow at Spring Vale Cemetery, East Providence. Floral tributes are respectfully omitted.
