Dr. Justin W. Shaghalian

Dr. Justin W. Shaghalian, 44, of Seekonk, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at his home surrounded by family after a brave battle with brain cancer. He was the husband of Catherine A. (Syner) Shaghalian.

Born in Providence, he was the son of Dr. Walter R. and Viviane (Malikian) Shaghalian. Dr. Shaghalian was a general dentist and the third generation owner of Shaghalian Family Dental in Rumford. He graduated from the Moses Brown School in Providence in 1996 and earned his Bachelor of Science from Boston College in 2000. He received his D.M.D. from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 2004. He completed the Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at the University of Connecticut in 2005.

Besides his wife and parents he leaves a son, Samuel J. Shaghalian, a daughter, Lila F. Shaghalian, a sister, Janine Donlan and her husband Bart and their daughter Hailey, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Frances and David Syner, and his sister-in-law, Sarah Botham, and her husband Richard and their children, Julia and Benjamin.

His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 10:00 AM in Sts. Sahag and Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church, 70 Jefferson Street, Providence. The burial will be private. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-8 PM in the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Brain Tumor Research Fund, Center for Neuro-Oncology, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA 02215 would be appreciated.
