Doorways Food Pantry Plans to Expand Shopping Days

Posted

Doorways Food Pantry is hoping to expand the number of days they are open for food shopping to pre-pandemic levels. “Doorways always operated as a weekly food supplement for our neighbors” said Paul Hodge of Doorways. “When Covid hit, and our food supply was reduced, we switched for food shopping twice a month. Since then, our goal has been to return to a weekly shopping format. We’re almost there.”

“The food supply issue is still a little shaky” said Diane Fox, who is in charge of purchasing at the food pantry. “We still are getting less food from the Boston Food Bank, but the community has been very supportive with donations of both food and cash, so we feel good going forward that we will be okay. It’s a leap of faith.”
