A September update from the Seekonk Lions Club.

Hello everyone. This is Seekonk Lions member George Poli Junior, and this month I will be providing you folks with the happenings of the Seekonk Lions Club.

As we have noted previously, our first Clam Boil Fund Raiser will be on September 23rd for the low introductory price of $30. Seafood prices have been high this summer and clams are no exception. However, we here at the Seekonk Lions want to have a throwback price to welcome our old friends in this new season. Stay tuned for future Clam Boils at the Seekonk Rod Gun Club in Rehoboth on our Facebook page.

The Seekonk Lions have been working hard to increase our membership. In the last month, we have added 5 new members and coming this October, we will be hosting a new member’s dinner at the Gristmill Tavern 390 Fall River Ave. If you are thinking about joining a civic organization, stop by and try us. Finally, on September 30th, we are teaming up with Gasbarro Liquors in Seekonk for our first Octoberfest fundraiser! Sam Adams will be the host along with other brands introducing their latest concoctions, seasonal and liquor samplings to swill and pair along with some fine German Cuisine. Along with raffles, contests and giveaways what more could you want? The event starts at 6pm. Limited tickets are $25 and moving fast. Call 508 336-3331 to purchase.
