Rehoboth Police Donate Money to Veterans

Posted

The Rehoboth Police Department donated money raised from their “No Shave November” event to the American Legion Post 302.

Police Chief James Trombetta told the Board of Selectmen the department raised $1700. Another $100 was contributed by Trombetta’s dentist.

The goal of “No Shave November” is to draw attention to cancer patients who often lose their hair. Participants donate money they would typically spend on shaving and grooming to local organizations.

Selectmen also recognized the retirement of Deputy Chief Mark Rossi, who served in the police department for 34 years.

“You’ve done a wonderful job,” Selectmen chairman Skip Vadnais told Rossi on Tuesday.

“He’s always been a team player,” Trombetta said of Rossi. “He’s been a tremendous help to me.”

Rossi will be staying with the department until August.
