Dighton-Rehoboth High School Graduation Set For August 1

Posted

Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School will be holding a non-traditional graduation on August 1 with a rain date of August 2. Principal John Gould said the ceremony would be under the guidance of the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).

Gould said the majority of the senior class wanted graduation deferred to August.  “Some seniors requested a home delivery by Mr. Kelley, Dean of Student Activities, (Superintendent Anthony) Azar, and myself,” Gould said.  “Some asked for their diplomas to be mailed to them.”

Last month, the State issued guidelines for high school graduations to be held outdoors after July 19. Seekonk High School’s graduation will be held on July 24. Due to the fears of spreading COVID-19, attendance will be limited to graduates and their immediate family members only. “We will do our very best to include all immediate family members,” Gould added.
