Posted

The Gertrude M. Boyden Wildlife Refuge will celebrate its 50th anniversary together with the Friends of Boyden Refuge, Inc. who will celebrate their 25th. Mayor Thomas C. Hoye, Jr., the keynote speaker, will report on the current status of the Refuge and Carol Traverse, Friends of Boyden Refuge treasurer, will talk about the history of Boyden. Ellenor Simmons, Field Operations Team Leader from the DCR, is our guest speaker. Also on the agenda are Steve Turner of the Conservation Commission and David Paulson of the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife. David will reminisce about the impact the Refuge has made in his life.

Following this program we will have an anniversary cake and a presentation by Marla Isaac of New England Reptile and Raptor Exhibits. You won’t want to miss it!

The celebration will be held at the Wildlife Refuge on Cohannet Street in Taunton (please bring your own chair), but in case of rain, the program will be held at the Taunton Public Library. See us on Facebook at Friends of Boyden Refuge, Inc.
