Riverside, RI— Scouting America Troop 55 Riverside recently returned from their annual adventure at Camp Yawgoog, a premier Scout camp in Rockville, Rhode Island. This year it marked the troop's 15th consecutive summer attending Camp Yawgoog, a tradition that continues to build strong bonds and develop essential skills among its Scouts.
During a week last month, 16 Scouts from Troop 55, evenly split between the red and green patrols, delved into the diverse activities that only Camp Yawgoog can offer. The Scouts reveled in a unique blend of fun, learning, and camaraderie from swimming and hiking to engaging in campfires and service projects.
At Camp Yawgoog, the troop seized the opportunity to participate in the camp's renowned merit badge program, earning a total of 29 merit badges across various disciplines. The Scouts' unwavering dedication and hard work paid off, with 7 members advancing in rank during the camp.
Camp Yawgoog is known for its rich history and exceptional program, making it the perfect setting for Scouts to hone their skills, connect with nature, and form lasting friendships. Troop 55's commitment to attending this camp for the past 15 years is a testament to the positive experiences and growth it offers.
