Laura Manchester (Allison) Leddy, of East Providence and formerly of Pawtucket, RI passed away peacefully on December 22, 2024, with her family by her side. She was born in Providence on February 25th, 1956, the oldest daughter of Hugh B. and Mary Lee (McGowan) Allison.

Laura grew up in Cumberland, RI, which at that time was a very rural setting, in the 1720 Colonial Cottage on Sneech Pond Road. She graduated Cumberland High School in 1974 and then from Bucknell University with degrees in Philosophy & Religious Studies.

Laura devoted her life to helping others and from an early age had a deep commitment to caring for those less fortunate. Her career ranged from law enforcement to more recently a role within the administration at Brown University. She considered her loving son Jonathan to be her single greatest achievement and would have a story filled with deep love and plenty of good humor for every joyous moment she had with him. We are all so blessed to have had her in our lives, and we honor her strength, courage and deep love she had for Jonathan, family and loyal friends.

Laura is survived by her son, Jonathan J. Leddy of Ledyard, CT, and his wife, Brittany; her mother, Mary Lee Allison, of Concord and Freedom, NH; her brother, Hugh B. Allison Jr, and sister-in-law, SaraLee of Milwaukee, WI; her sister, Sara L. Phelps of Merrimack, NH, and brother-in-law, David; her brother, Timothy B. Allison, and sister-in-law, Estie Ott of Kittery, ME; as well as two nieces, Sylvia Allison and her partner, Ty Ederesinghe, Katherine (Phelps) Thompson, her husband Phil, their children Natalie and Christopher, and one nephew, Benjamin Phelps and his wife, Leslie. She also leaves behind many loving cousins, treasured friends and her beloved cats, Gary & Zander. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Leddy, her father Hugh B. Allison, and her nephew Beau Allison. A celebration of life will take place at 11:00AM on Saturday, February 8th at Four Corners Community Chapel, 200 Angell Road, Cumberland, RI 02864. All who knew and loved Laura are welcome to attend and a catered reception will follow the services at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the charity of your choice in Laura’s memory or to Four Corners Community Chapel at the address above.
