Joaquim Martins Lopes, 85, known affectionately as Joaquim, a man of unwavering faith and boundless generosity, passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 1, 2024, at Miriam Hospital in Providence. Born on March 6, 1939, in the scenic town of Altares, Terceira, in the Azores, Joaquim was the cherished son of the late Manuel M. and Amelia deJesus (Pinheiro) Lopes.
A dedicated brother and beloved uncle, Joaquim is survived by his sister Teresina DeJesus Lopes of the Azores, Portugal, and his sister Amelia Martins Lopes of Tracy, California. His memory will also be treasured by his ten nieces and numerous great-nieces and nephews, who will continue to honor his legacy. He joins in eternity his sister, the late Maria Judite Lopes, and brother, the late Fernando Lopes. For over 44 years, he served with distinction at Hope Webbing, taking pride in his roles as an assembler and inventory control specialist.
