Hennessey Elementary School News

Posted

The auditorium of East Providence High School was ablaze with talent last Friday night as students showcased their remarkable skills in the highly anticipated annual talent show. From heartwarming musical performances to awe-inspiring dance routines, the event was a true celebration of creativity and dedication. Congratulations to all of our heroes who performed and our top winners.

Hennessey also has two students who deserve recognition this month! Fifth grader, Victor Ferreira, is this year's recipient of RITELL’s Inaugural MLL Student of the Year award for the state of Rhode Island. He was nominated by his MLL teacher, Mrs. Sweeney, for his academic success, bilingual language development, and bicultural pride. He will be honored at a ceremony in May. Danasia Scurry, another fifth grader, was a golden ticket winner this month from the Feinstein Foundation. This foundation promotes kindness, empathy and compassion. Hennessey was awarded a $5,000 grant and Danasia was awarded $500 to donate to a non profit organization of her choice. Danasia chose the Ronald McDonald House because she “wants to help the families in need who want to visit or be with their sick kids in the hospital.” Hennessey is beaming with hero pride for these students!

As the end of the school year draws near, anticipation builds for a whirlwind of exciting activities that mark the culmination of months of hard work and learning. Fifth grader, Sebastian, is looking forward to the grade 5 celebration. Fourth grader, Aaliyah, is also looking forward to field day and second grader, Leah, is looking forward to the book fair! Heroes are ready for the last months of school!
