Freshman Chris Charbonneau's bunt sacrifice in the second inning wasn't the biggest hit in the game, and it didn't get any RBI in the scorecard, but it was an offensive spark for the Townies, which don't always score lots of runs. Pressed into a starter's role due to an injury to a team mate, the ninth grader came through. Charbonneau's first bunt attempt was popped back foul. On the next pitch he put down a picture perfect bunt which put two runners in scoring position. The bunt ignited the Townie dugout which greeted Charbonneau's return to the dugout with enthusiasm. That's all Aidan Martins needed when he then knocked in both runs. EP and Dicecco never looked back.

East Providence shut out Toll Gate 9-0 Friday at EPHS behind the no-hit complete game pitching of Tyler Dicecco. Dicecco struck out 12 batters and dominated Toll Gate throughout. East Providence scored a run in the first inning and left some runners on base. In the bottom of the second inning, Kyle Desrosiers and Colin Roche led off with walks and freshman Chris Charbonneau put down his bunt sacrifice moving two runners into scoring position. Aidan Martins then laced a line drive double to center field easily knocking in Colin Roche and Kyle Desrosiers. The three-run lead would be all the runs the Townies needed for the night.

East Providence opened up the lead with five more runs in the fifth inning. With the bases loaded, Gavin Palombo was hit by a pitch, driving in a run. Timothy Robatille drew a walk, scoring a run, and Brian Rutkowski hit into a fielder's choice also scoring a run. Oliver Andrews hit into a fielder's choice, and Tyler Dicecco hit a sacrifice fly, each knocking in a run.

Aidan Martins led East Providence with two hits and Dicecco, Martins, and Andrews each drove in two runs for the Townies. The East Providence infield turned in an inning-ending double play and the team had no errors.
