David Medeiros, 71, a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2025, at RI Hospital in Providence. Born on September 19, 1953, in Providence, Rhode Island, David was a man known for his humor, generosity, and exceptional handiness. He lived a full and vibrant life, leaving a legacy of love and laughter.

As the son of the late Manuel Joseph Medeiros and Johanna (Roies) Medeiros, David inherited a strong sense of family and community which he carried with him throughout his years. He took great pride in his children, Adam Enos Medeiros of Bristol, Jessica Hodgkinson of Pawtucket, and Lisa Laliberte of West Warwick. David's role as a grandfather to Camryn Beech, and Dylan Thomas Morley and as a great-grandfather to Jayleigh Cote brought him immeasurable joy. His love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life.

David's siblings, Urban Medeiros of Fall River, Edward G. Medeiros, Sr., of Seekonk, Joanna Barlow of Texas, Carolyn Burgess of Riverside, and Edwina Gonsalves of Rumford, will remember him as a beacon of support and humor. He was predeceased by his siblings Lucien Medeiros, Raoul Medeiros, Judith Neary, Claudia Shilo, and Eileen Medeiros, but his memory will continue to unite the family. David's numerous nieces and nephews will also hold dear their memories of their fun-loving uncle.

A self-employed carpenter and tradesman, David dedicated his life to his craft. His work was not just a job but a passion that he pursued with great skill and dedication. The homes and projects he worked on stand as a testament to his talent and attention to detail. His commitment to his profession was matched only by his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

David was a lifelong resident of East Providence, where his presence was a familiar and welcomed sight. He was an avid animal lover, with a particular fondness for dogs, which brought warmth to both his home and his heart. His love for fishing was more than a hobby; it was a reflection of his appreciation for nature and the simple pleasures of life.

Above all, David cherished the time he spent with his family. Whether it was sharing a laugh, embarking on a fishing trip, or simply enjoying each other's company, these moments were the ones he valued most. His sense of humor and generous spirit were the glue that bonded his family together, creating countless cherished memories.

David will be remembered as a man who could fix anything, a trait that extended beyond his carpentry skills to include mending hearts with his kindness and making everyone around him smile with his quick wit. He was the kind of person who made the world a better place simply by being in it.

As we say goodbye to David, we celebrate a life well-lived. His impact on those he loved and the community he was a part of will be felt for generations to come. David Medeiros's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the willingness to help others—a true testament to the remarkable man he was.

His spirit will continue to live on through his family and the many lives he touched. David Medeiros's journey on earth has ended, but his story will be told for years to come, bringing smiles to the faces of those who remember him fondly. Rest in peace, David, knowing you were deeply loved and your presence will be profoundly missed.
