David is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, E. Sharon Capobianco. He was the loving and devoted father of Kerrie Ann Atwell and David Jude Capobianco, and father-in-law to Bruce W. Atwell and Tracy A. Capobianco. He was a loving and devoted grandfather to his three grandchildren, Ava Katherine (Kate) Atwell, Constantino (Con) Capobianco and Christina-Marie (Bee) Capobianco. He is also survived by his brother Carl J. Capobianco and his wife Pauline, of Narragansett, and his sister Sandra M. Kerekes and her husband Attila of Warwick. He was brother-in-law to Paula and Thomas Hughes of Maine, Deborah Gallagher, Denise Pusyka, Mary Pannone, and Thomas Laboissonniere of Smithfield, Earl (Skip) Laboissonniere and his wife Barbara of Michigan, James Laboissonniere of Nevada, and Christine Laboissonniere and her husband Michael Frenette of Florida. He also leaves 6 nieces and 13 nephews.

David was a graduate of Providence College and Suffolk University Law School, graduating cum laude in 1976. He practiced law in Rhode Island until his retirement in 2008. He enjoyed sailing, skiing, gardening, investing in the stock market, and traveling. He was a member of the North Providence Rotary Club serving as President five times. He was also honored to have been selected as Team Leader, taking a group of four young adults to Italy on a six-week Rotary Group Study Exchange Program. The North Providence Rotary Club chose to honor him on two occasions for which he received Rotary’s highest honor, that of being named a Paul Harris Fellow, in appreciation of tangible and significant assistance given for furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations between peoples of the world.

David was a member of ROTC at Providence College and served in the Rhode Island National Guard and the U.S. Army. He was a Captain with the 92nd Military Police Battalion, serving in Vietnam from November 1968 to November 1969. During his time there he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious achievement in ground operations against hostile forces.

More than anything else, David enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was supportive of his children in every way and asked only for their love and company. He hopes that they know how special they were to him and that they always remember how much they were loved. Never thinking of himself, he worked hard in life to make things easier for them. That was his purpose and his pleasure.
