William A. Connors, Jr.

William A. Connors, Jr., 89, of Middle Street, Riverside, died peacefully on November 18, 2021 at the Island Health Care Center, Riverside, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Laurine A. (Clang) Connors.

Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late William A. Connors Sr. and Onilda H. (Lussier) Connors, he lived in Riverside since 1965 and Florida for 6 years.

Mr. Connors was a Laborer for Local #271 for 40 years before retiring in 1982.

William was a former Riverside Pop Warner Football Coach. He enjoyed summers on Prudence Island and spending time with his loving family.

Mr. Connors was a devoted Catholic and communicant of St. Brendan’s Church. He was a graduate of St. Raphael Academy Class of 1950.

A sports enthusiast, William was a devoted New York Yankees fan.

Mr. Connors was a United States Army Veteran serving as a staff sergeant in the Korean Conflict.

Besides his wife of sixty-four years, he is survived by his children, Kathleen F. Heaton of Providence, Paul A. Connors of Riverside, Nancy E. Crawford of Charlestown, Thomas J. Connors of Invergrove Heights, Minnesota and Donna B. O’Malley of Marble, NC; two sisters, Carol Ward of Attleboro and Madelyn Young of Plainville; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. He was the brother of the late Gertrude Baines, Dorothy Bouthillette and Charlotte Richards.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside on Friday November 26, 2021 at 10 a.m. Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in William’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be deeply appreciated.
