Timothy E. Bryan, 85, of Rumford, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 4th, 2023, surrounded by his loving wife and family. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late Willard C. and Winifred (Leutner) Bryan. Tim was also the husband of Mary Ann (Mahoney) Bryan of Rumford, Rhode Island. Tim graduated from Yale University in 1960 with a bachelor’s degree in English. A member of the ROTC Program, he served 10 years of active duty as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy and 10 years in the Navy Reserves. Upon retirement from the Navy, he continued service as a Blue and Gold Officer with the United States Naval Academy. In addition to his Navy credentials, Tim led a successful career as a financial advisor spanning more than 40 years in Rhode Island. He was a devoted parishioner of St. Margaret Church, an active member of Wannamoisett Country Club, The Army Navy Club, and took great pride in his involvement with the East Providence Rotary Club where he served as President during his membership. Tim was well-known for his incredible discipline, loyalty, and dedication to his work, but he would say his greatest accomplishment, by far, was the wonderful life he built with Mary Ann and their children. Tim was a father of five and “Grandpa B” to eight. He is survived by his children, Vincent A. Marcello Jr. (Jessica), Robin A. Bailey (Brian), Terry W. Bryan II (Rachel), and Thomas R. Bryan. Tim also leaves his grandchildren, Nicholas A. Marcello, Jack T. Marcello, Matthew Ryder Marcello, Hayes W. Marcello, Benjamin P. Bailey, Madison A. Bailey, Reagan I. Bryan, and Aiden T. Bryan. Tim was preceded in death by his son Michael W. Bryan, his brother, Terry W. Bryan, and his sister, Ruth B. Kyler.
