Sylvia M. Kenney, 84, of Silver Lake, New Hampshire and formerly of Riverside Rhode Island passed away at home on Sunday, July 24, 2022. She was the wife of the late Charles A. Goodwin, Jr. and the late Gilbert A. Amaral and Henry E. Walther.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Francis J. and Adeline S. (Morreira) Kenney. Sylvia was a Bell telephone operator for many years and also worked for the East Providence Police Department before retiring. She enjoyed visiting lighthouses, spending time by the ocean and singing and listening to Country Western music. She was an active member of The Friends of Pomham Rocks Lighthouse. Her biggest enjoyment was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She leaves one son, Henry "Hank" Walther and his fiance Lillian Mello, one daughter, Kathleen Smith and her husband Jack, four grandchildren, Henry, Matthew, Michael and April, three great grandchildren, who lovingly called her "Grandma Seagull", Katy, Addison and Tobias, two brothers, Raymond Kenny and Joseph Kenney and nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Francis Kenney, Jr.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Brendan's Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veteran's Cemetery. Calling hours Friday 5-8 PM.
