Ronald J. Lewis

Ronald J. Lewis, 79, of East Providence, passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Beverly (Soares) Lewis.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph Monteiro and Angelina Garcia Lewis.

Ron was a professional musician and the original lead singer for the band “Reminisce” for over 25 years. He was a great cook and loved being around his family and friends. His grandchildren were his proud and joy. He adored his two dogs Princess and Patches. He will be missed by his family and all who knew him and his amazing voice.

Besides his loving wife, he leaves three daughters, Michelle Lewis Platt and her husband Standring of Orange Beach, AL, Debra Ann Lewis of East Matunuck, Joanna Lewis Hayden and her husband Tyler of Providence, step daughter, Cheri Almeida and her wife Laura of North Kingstown, step son, J.R. Almeida and his wife Sheri of Burrillville, six grandchildren, Julia Platt, P.J. Platt, John Ryan Tomasso, Stella Mia Tomasso, Samantha Rose Tomasso, Jesse Levi Hayden, one great grandchild, Sterling Platt, two brothers, Richard Lewis of Ohio, Joseph Monteiro of Cranston. He was the brother of the late, Albert Lewis and Eugene Monteiro.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 from 5-7 PM with a service immediately following at 7pm in the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence. Burial will be private.
