Mindful Living Everyday Virtual Series at Weaver Library
Wednesdays, October 13-27 at 7:00 pm via Zoom
The Weaver Library is proud to present a virtual 3-week series focused on the practical application of mindfulness techniques. Much has been written about mindfulness and its benefits but often there is a lack of clarity about how it can make a difference in your daily personal and professional life. In this series, we will explore mindfulness by practicing specific techniques that can be immediately incorporated into your daily life. We will discuss practices to address stress and to live more fully in the present moment.
Participants with no prior mindfulness experience are welcome, as are those practitioners who enjoy the practice in a community setting. These introductory sessions will be nonsequential, so participants may attend one or multiple sessions. The techniques will be presented in a manner that a new participant can follow easily but will allow those who have taken the earlier sessions to practice at a more advanced level. At the end of each session, the instructor will remain online to discuss any questions or to provide more in-depth explanations.
Ms. McLaughlin has been a member of the R.I. Bar for over 30 years, and a professor of law. She is a certified yoga teacher and mindfulness instructor who teaches a variety of offerings of in-person classes and online courses in workplace sessions and community settings. She is also a facilitator for Meditate Together, hosted by Mindful Leader, a worldwide program that offers free live group meditation sessions, 24 hours a day, five days a week in an effort to help as many people as possible during these challenging times.
