Mary (Estrella) Pizzi

Mary (Estrella) Pizzi, 74, of East Providence, died Friday, February 11,2022 at Rhode Island Hospital.

She was the wife of Louis A. Pizzi, they were married for over 51 years.

Mary was born in Providence, the daughter of the late Anthony V. and Mary R. (Pragana) Estrella.

Mary was a cashier for the Brookfield Liquors, for over 5 years.

She has been an East Providence resident all her life, and a parishioner of St. Martha’s Church.

She was a terrific cook, who enjoyed spending time with her family, children, and grandchildren.

Besides her husband she is survived by her children Louis A. Pizzi, Jr. and his partner Shirley Marini of Riverside, her daughter Susan M. Jones and her husband Burton of East Providence.

She was the sister of Veronica E. Smith of Warwick and her late husband LeRoy C. Smith, Sr., Alfred Estrella and his partner Leslie Karouz of East Providence and the late Anthony V. Estrella, Jr. and his wife Donna Estrella of Smithfield.

Mary is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Deborah A. Cipriano, LeRoy C. Smith, Jr., Michael W. Smith, Tony Estrella, Todd Estrella, Dean Estrella, Monica Boffi and Donny Estrella.

She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Pizzi was the grandmother of Krystal Pizzi, Michael Jones, and McKenna Jones.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 16,2022 at 8:45am from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Francis Xavier Church, 81 North Carpenter Street, East Providence.

Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail East Providence.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4:00-7:00pm, at the funeral home.
