Marilyn Gail (MacCombie) D'Antonino

Marilyn Gail (MacCombie) D'Antonino, 82, passed away on September 7, 2020 at Hope Hospice and Paliative Care inpatient unit of melanoma. She was predeceased by her parents, Franklin MacCombie and Florence (Corbishley) MacCombie, and her husband, Harry D'Antonino. She was also predeceased by her brother, Bruce MacCombie, and an infant son, Stephen Maurer. She is survived by her beloved daughters, Donna Maurer, PhD and Sandra Rodriguez, LPN, as well as her grandson, Steven McIntyre; his spouse, Ashley; one great-granddaughter, Haileigh; a sister, Florence Ingersoll; and step-sisters Helen Chace, Barbara Enos, and Patricia Patesel. She also leaves two wonderful friends, Helen Crews and Ida Farnsworth, who checked in with her every day when she was ill.

She graduated from Roger Williams School of Nursing in 1958 and worked for almost 50 years as an RN in hospitals and nursing homes in the area. She was the first Director of Nursing Services at Lynn Health Center in East Providence. For the last seven years of her career, she worked multiple positions at Hope Hospice and Palliative Care of Rhode Island. After retiring, Marilyn volunteered in all venues of hospice and ran the caring ministry at Seekonk Congregational Church, UCC, following her role model, Reverend Joy Utter, and helped by her companion, Ed Burnett. She was also active in the Earnest Workers women's group. She enjoyed music, gardening, traveling, and her pets, Petey and Clifford, who are left in the care of her daughter.

Her family wishes to thank the staff of Winslow Gardens and Hope Hospice for their attentive and loving care and support, especially Breda Hines, RN, and Audilia Mendes, CNA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hope Hospice or Seekonk Congregational Church or to the charity of your choice.

Her graveside service at Highland Memorial Park will be private. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
