Maria Nazaré Sousa
Maria Nazaré Sousa, 85, of East Providence, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, April 17, 2022. She was the wife of the late Gualter Sousa. Born in Faial, Azores, she was a daughter of the late José da Rosa Pinheiro and Maria (Garcia) Pinheiro.
Mrs. Sousa worked for Nulco Mfg. until she retired. She was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church. Maria was a loving mother and grandmother who adored her family. She will be dearly missed.
She leaves two children, Manny Sousa and his wife Amy of Barrington, Carla Tedeschi and her husband Joe of Manhattan Beach, CA, three grandchildren, Lucas Sousa, Ethan Sousa, and Audrey Tedeschi. She was a sister of the late, Fr. Antonio da Rosa Pinheiro, José da Rosa Pinheiro, Francisco da Rosa Pinheiro, Manuel da Rosa Pinheiro, Luis da Rosa Pinheiro, Rafael da Rosa Pinheiro, and Maria de Lourdes Fernandes.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Saint Francis Xavier Church, 81 N. Carpenter Street, East Providence. Burial will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours Wednesday, 5-7 PM.
