Maria D. (Carreiro) Pacheco

Maria D. (Carreiro) Pacheco, 93, of Florida and formerly of East Providence and Fox Point, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2021. She was the wife of the late John S. Pacheco.

Born in Sao Miguel, Azores she was a daughter of the late Augusto and Evangaline (Pimental) Carreiro. Mrs. Pacheco worked for the Davol Rubber Company before she retired. She was a member of the East Providence Senior Center and the Cranston Portuguese Club where she always enjoyed cooking for the annual feast. She made her home at The Villages, Florida and was very happy living there.

She leaves three children, Florence Pacheco Mello and her husband Al, with whom she made her home, Mary Jo Kennedy of Warwick and Richard Pacheco and his wife Frances of Newtown, CT., three sisters, Beatriz Teodora of Brazil, Inez DeNascimento and Angelina Schleiffer both of Florida, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Evaristo Carreiro.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 10:00 AM in St. Margaret Church, 1098 Pawtucket Avenue, Rumford. Due to Covid-19, burial will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions to the East Providence Senior Center, 610 Waterman Avenue, East Providence, RI 02914 would be appreciated.
