Posted

Marguerite Helen (Swiszcz) Shadrick, of East Providence, daughter of the late Chester and Marguerite Swiszcz.

On May 6, 2021, Midge passed away peacefully at home with the same dignity and grace that she practiced throughout her life. Midge leaves her husband of 50 years, Robert A. Shadrick.

Besides her husband she is survived by three daughters, Rebecca Allison Carr and her husband Matthew and grandchildren, Benjamin, Emma and Samuel. Amy Beth LeBeau and grandchildren, Jack, Owen and Luke. Molly Kathryn Kiselica and her husband Corey and grandchildren, Cole, Claire and Cade. She is also survived by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Mary Shadrick.

Midge was an accomplished painter in oils, watercolor and reverse painting on glass. Through her Stonewall Art Studio she taught her many students the joy of painting for 37 years. She exhibited at many of the local art festivals such as the Wickford Art Festival, Warren, Newport and Narragansett. To sum up her feelings, she wrote, "After viewing my work, I hope that you leave with a warm feeling in your heart and a smile on your face."

Golf was a sport that she found later in life. She loved playing, practicing and watching it avidly. Within the many women's and couple's leagues that she played in, she found wonderful new friends and enjoyment.

The family would like to thank the caring staff at the Lifespan Cancer Institute and HopeHealth Hospice and Palliative Care for helping to care for Midge.
Her services will be private. Arrangements by the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME.
