Margaret R. Brasileiro, 98, of Rumford, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at the Hattie Ide Chaffee Home. She was the wife of the late Joaquim “Jack” Brasileiro.

Born in East Providence, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Josephine (Sousa) Roderick. Mrs. Brasileiro and her husband were the former owners of the Colonial Bakery in Cumberland and the East Avenue Bakery in Pawtucket. She was an avid reader, enjoyed watching golf and always loved working in her garden. Her most prized possession was her family. She always enjoyed spending time with them and kept in touch with everyone on her I Pad. Mrs. Brasileiro was a very authentic and genuine person. She never had an unkind word to say about anyone and was truly loved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.

She leaves one daughter, Paula M. Brasileiro with whom she made her home, four nieces, Katherine Nelson, Mary Jane Matos, Jane Rose and Lori Ann Fonseca and several great nieces and one great nephew. She also leaves Lisa Halterman and Mark McKinnon who were like her grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Lillian Rose, Franklin Roderick, Edward Roderick and Gilbert Roderick and aunt of the late Patricia Fonseca and Ernest Rose.

Her funeral and visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 8:00 AM from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Margaret Church, 1098 Pawtucket Avenue, Rumford. Burial will be in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148 would be appreciated.
