LeRoy V. Rose

LeRoy V. Rose, 84, of East Providence, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Rose Marie (Teixeira) Rose to whom he was married 59 years.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Reynold V. and Mary (Miranda) Rose. Mr. Rose worked for the East Providence School Department before he retired and previously worked at the former Washburn Wire Company. In his early years, he was a member of the Fox Point Boys Club and was also inducted into their Hall of Fame. He was an avid classic car enthusiast and attended many car shows throughout Rhode Island. He also enjoyed boxing and all New England sports teams. One of Mr. Rose's favorite pastimes was taking care of his yard. He always enjoyed planting flowers around the yard and having a well-manicured lawn.

Besides his wife he leaves three children, LeRoy V. Rose, Jr. and his wife Lynn, Christine M. Rose and Darren L. Rose and his wife Michelle Thibaudeau, his four grandchildren whom he adored, Nicole Britto, Lyanna Rose, Lauren Rose and Ava Rose and one sister, Loretta Lomba. He was the brother of the late Reynold Rose.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart Church, 100 Taunton Avenue, East Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours Monday 5-8. In lieu of flowers contributions to Sacred Heart Church would be deeply appreciated.
