Joseph A. Calitri, 91, formerly of Riverside, RI and Seekonk, MA, died peacefully on March 17, 2023 at Tockwotton on the Waterfront, East Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Ernestine “Tina” (DiMicco) Calitri.

Born in Providence, the son of the late Anthony and Elvira “Eva” (Martini) Calitri, he lived in Riverside for 23 years and Seekonk for 24 years.

Mr. Calitri worked at Keyes Associates, Architects/Engineers as manager of the Specifications Department for 20 years before retiring in 1994.

He was a graduate of Brown University and was a certified Construction Specifier and a member of the Construction Specifications Institute.

Mr. Calitri was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War serving with the 153rd Military Intelligence Battalion.

Joseph was an accomplished accordion player and a member of both the St. Brendan’s Church Choir and the East Providence Community Chorus.

He enjoyed reading, listening to music, watching sporting events and playing golf.

He is survived by three loving daughters, Karen and Thomas McNamara of North Attleboro, MA, Joanne and Edward Brown of Ridgewood, NJ and Janice and Michael Mehos of Ridgewood, NJ; four beautiful granddaughters, Jennifer, Stephanie, Tatiana and Kristina; two great grandchildren, Samantha and Callum, and a sister, Rosanne Scungio of North Providence, RI.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday March 22 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, Pawtucket Avenue, Rumford at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
