Janice E. Lawson

Janice E. Lawson, 90, of East Providence, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022. She was the wife of the late Thomas W. Lawson. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Laura (McKenna) Walsh.

Family was the center of Jan's life and she was always ready for the next gathering. There she would bring a smile with her many sayings and her energetic dance moves. She spent many happy days gardening, attending the senior center or making carrot cake. Yet playing bingo, nearby or far away, was without a doubt her favorite hobby. During Jan’s last year, she embraced the enrichment activities at Victoria Court, Cranston, RI.

She was the beloved mother of Kathleen McCabe and her husband Donald of East Greenwich, Elizabeth Pascucci and her husband Joseph of The Villages, FL, Steven Lawson of East Providence, Sen. Valarie Lawson and her husband Leonard Rounds of East Providence, Kerry Lawson of East Providence. She was the grandmother of Mitchell Lawson and Evan Lawson and sister to Joan Gribbin of Central Falls. She was the mother of the late Thomas W. Lawson, Jr., and sister of the late Patricia Bingham and the late Robert Walsh.
The family would like to thank the dedicated staff members at Victoria Court and Evergreen House Health and Rehabilitation, East Providence, RI for their care and kindness.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart Church, 118 Taunton Avenue, East Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
