Janet Marie Almeida

Janet Marie Almeida passed away peacefully, July 18,2022. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Alice (Cabral) Almeida.

She lived a wonderful life full of her favorite things: singing and dancing to music, watching classics like I Love Lucy and the Lawrence Welk Show, and loving her friends and family.

Her favorite hobbies included coloring and playing games especially bingo. She loved her dolls, wearing jewelry, and all animals, especially Daisy the dog. Janet was always the life of the party. She loved being around people and always had a huge, contagious smile on her face. She brought joy and laughter to everyone she met with her amazing sense of humor.

We are sure that she has been reunited with her loved ones and is still singing her favorite song “Let me call you Sweetheart”

She is survived by her siblings Diane Bedrosian of East Providence, Michael Almeida and his wife Grace of Cumberland, Nancy McClure, and her husband Phillip of North Smithfield, and her four nieces, Katie, Julianne, Kayla and Heather.

Her funeral services will be private for the immediate family and for her friends from the Fogarty Center and group homes.

Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted, in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory made to the Fogarty Center,220 Woonasquatucket Avenue, North Providence, RI, 02911.
